How do you get a removal lorry into Italy?

The Alpine leg is the part that makes an Italian move distinctive, and it is planned in from the start rather than left to chance on the day.
Does moving to Italy from the UK mean customs paperwork now?
Yes. Since Brexit a household move to Italy is a customs export, so it needs a customs declaration and a detailed, valued inventory. Most people relocating can apply for Transfer of Residence relief on used personal belongings where they qualify. We prepare the paperwork and guide you through the parts only you can supply, such as proof you are settling at the Italian address.
Can you deliver to a rural place in Tuscany or by the lakes?
We can, and we plan for it. Rural Italian addresses and older buildings can mean narrow approaches, restricted-access historic centres, or a final leg a large lorry cannot make in one go. We check the access at the survey stage so there are no nasty surprises when we arrive, and arrange a smaller vehicle for the last stretch if that is what it takes.
How long will the move take?
It depends on the route, the Alpine crossing, whether you take a dedicated vehicle or share a load, and how customs clearance goes. Rather than quote a number we cannot guarantee, we give you an estimated window in the written quote and keep you informed as your move makes its way south.
